Stay with a Gadabout Gal!

Gadabout Tiff here inviting YOU to come stay with me in my tiny garden cottage. My husband Jeff and I can not wait to welcome guests!

The Roost at Flown The Coop is the first guest house project for our destination at Flown The Coop in Burton, Texas. Burton is a tiny town located half way between Houston and Austin off Hwy. 290.

The project reminded us of how much fun we have creating. We have restored four historic homes in the course of our thirty year marriage. We both love repurposing unique finds into functional spaces and are not afraid of hard work.

Here's a glimpse of the project....

The tiny garden cottage

Have you ever wondered about living in a tiny house? Here’s your chance to try tiny home living in a one-of-a-kind tiny cottage retreat in a garden!

Imagine your stay in a private cottage with full bathroom and kitchenette. It’s cozy with a full bed, cafe table and nooks to relax. Grab a coffee & head to the porch over looking the cottage garden.

The inspiration

The Roost is inspired by our Gen.U.Ine Free Spirit chicken, Polly.

There once was a Gen.U.Ine Free chicken named Polly whose adventurous spirit compelled her to hitch a ride in the back of her previous owner’s pick-up truck. Her loving family owns The Blue Willow Cafe in the nearby town of Burton. Burton offered scope for the imagination and places to explore. Once in Burton, she hopped out of the pick-up and made her way to a creative destination dedicated to those who can’t be caged.

Polly flew her coop to Flown The Coop. How cool is that?

Let me customize your stay!

Everyone said we would be bored when we moved out to the country. That couldn’t be further from the truth. There is always something fun going on to fill our calendars. And we don’t have to go any further than our back yard when we want to relax on the hammock or take a walk in our dreamy little town. We are excited to welcome guests into our charming world.

The Roost is in the heart of historic Burton walking distance to local restaurants and live music on the weekends. I can customize your stay with recommendations to our favorite local hotspots!
