I Have A Confession To Make ... And I'll Start With Nashville
Did I catch your attention? I hope I did. Hey everyone, it's Gadabout Gal Michele and I'm here to make a confession that I'm hoping you all can relate to. Ready? ....
I schedule my time on vacations around where I'm going to eat. OK it's out and I feel so much better! Cheers to that!
Yes, I admit it. I'm a foodie and food choices, restaurants and food experiences are extremely important to me when I'm on a vacation. I mean, come on, food (oh and cocktails) is a pretty big part to travel and I love exploring all the local flavors of the destinations that I am in.
So for now, I'm going to talk about Music City - Nashville and share with you some of my favorite Nashville Nosh Joints. There are so many incredible places to eat! I've only been a couple times (both with my cool adult kids) and I know there are plenty of other places that I'm sure I will miss here, so if I do miss one (or three or four) of your favorites, please share and add them in the comments below. Because I will definitely be making return visits so I want to try out some of your recommendations too.
When we go to Nashville we tend to want to behave like locals instead of tourists so we actually spend most of our time outside of the Broadway County Bar Scene. Not that it's bad, it's just that we prefer to spend our time exploring the less crowded area. Here are some of our most favorite places in 12 South.
Frothy Monkey for breakfast or lunch and good coffee; Las Paletas for gourmet popsicles; bartaco for tacos, bowls and margaritas; Sprinkles for cupcakes - I mean, you can get a cupcake out of an ATM machine, need I say more; Five Daughters Bakery for any type of freshly baked and delicious sweet treat.
2. THE GULCH
Milk & Honey Nashville for breakfast, especially if Biscuit Love has a super long line. Make sure to stop and take a photo at this cool mural just down from the restaurant; Barista Parlor Golden Sound for craft brewed coffee and breakfast; Moto's for Modern Italian; Adele's which is celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman's restaurant. Loved the food and my gin cocktail!
3. Other Notables
DeSano Pizza Bakery for Neapolitan pies with a skyline view; Sky Blue Cafe on the East side for a delicious breakfast in a small, hippie joint; Sinema a delicious 1940's styled restaurant with good food and an incredible women's restroom. #Sinemaselfie
Like I mentioned, there are so many fabulous places to eat and drink in Nashville. These are just some of my favorites that I thought I'd share. Let me know what you've tried that I didn't list here. I can't wait to go back and eat my way through this fun town again!
